Our Support

We are proud to pledge our official support to Yoga Gives Back and to date we have raised and donated over $75,000 for Yoga Gives back. W are committed to helping them raise significant funding for their life-changing projects, whilst also providing resources and support to help them spread their global reach and advance their goal of raising awareness and funds to alleviate poverty in India.

Who they are

Yoga Gives Back IS a non-profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support vulnerable women and children in India. Founded by Kayoko Mitsumatsu in 2006, to find a way for the global Yoga community to help empower people in India who lack the means to build sustainable livelihoods. Their mantra of “For the cost of one Yoga class, you can change a life,” has been carried forward by dedicated supporters across the globe in over 30 countries.

What they do

By partnering with local NGOs in India, Yoga Gives Back has grown to assist over 2,400 mothers and children with micro-loan programs and educational funds with a minimum 5-year commitment to each person. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Yoga Gives Back has expanded their support network to include projects that provide women and children access to the Internet and basic computer education, as well as to sanitary pad making machines which provide women and girls with much-needed affordable and biodegradable high quality menstrual products whilst also creating a source of income for women in Yoga Give Back’s micro-loan groups.

About the programme

We have raised and donated over $15,000 for the Liforme Racial Diversity in Yoga Programme. We set out to cultivate a more racially inclusive and equitable Yoga landscape that reflects a diverse range of practitioners and perspectives by giving visibility, and in some cases, funding to initiatives/individuals advancing this mission.
Get involved by submitting an initiative and feature on our Community Hub or by contributing to our Community Fund.

Help contribute to our Community Fund, which offers financial grants to selected initiatives and individuals. Liforme have already kicked things off by making an initial donation of $15,000 to the Fund. Join us as we work together to make sure Yoga is available and welcoming to all.

COVID-19: Yoga Teachers and Studio Support Fund

Our Support

This fund was launched in April 2020, to help provide vital cashflow during the COVID-19 global pandemic for Yoga teachers and studios, who run crucially important businesses at the heart of our community. We asked for our community to nominate Yoga teachers or local studios who were in need during this time, as well as to donate to the cause and in total we raised over $100,000.

As a dynamic media force, GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change. GLAAD protects all that has been accomplished and creates a world where everyone can live the life they love.
